Moscow Metro

TRAIN STATION OR MUSEUM?  MOSCOW METRO

Moscow has one of the most beautiful underground system in the world with stunning stations with chandeliers, statues, mosaiques and huge spaces....they look more like a museum and not the usual subway stations.

Each station has its own style and there are more than 200 stations and 14 lines!! It is best to visit early in the morning so you don’t get too many people in your shots; I went super early at around 6 AM.

Trains’ messages are either announced by a male or a female voice. The man’s voice is used on announcements for trains that are going towards the city centre while the woman’s voice is used on aanouncements for trains leaving the city centre.

Some of the stations that are really worth a visit are:

- Mayakovskaya Metro station
- Elektrozavodskaya Metro Station
- Ploshchad Revolyutsii Metro Station
- Kievskaya Station
- Komsomolskaya Metro Station

These are some pictures I took with a mix of 35 mm film cameras and digital:
